Secrets of Customizing Your Clothes
November 16th, 2009 / Posted in Apparel by Miss CozyEver wanted unique, customized clothes? Have a budget that only allows for chain store bargains? No
problem!
If you want unique, one of a kind clothes, all you need to do is get customizing! T-shirts can have the sleeves removed, or why not add a couple of slashes to your tight little tee to add sexiness.
Then there are that old staple – jeans. With the fabric glues available these days, and a trip to your local haberdashery, to pick up appliqués, sequin strips and more, you can add interest to your cheap jeans with absolutely no sewing skill, in a few minutes.
If you have a little extra cash, getting your chain store finds altered to fit you like a glove can work wonders. Where clothes are concerned, great fit trumps high cost every time! You may just find a local seamstress who can make your clothes uniquely you right in your neighborhood.
Secret tip #33: For a quick way to improve trousers, sew the pockets closes – gaping pockets can ruin the line of a pair of trousers or jeans. You can try the same trick on trench coats too – often, pockets get stretched and worn out way before the coat is past its prime.
