So often, I hear fashionista friends marveling over the lines, the design, and the beautiful pattern on this deconstructed item or the other.

However, when I look at it, all I see is, well, an ugly top / skirt / shirt, which looks like it could have come from a thrift store, but cost enough to buy everything in the store!

These same friends bemoan the fact that they can’t find men, and sometimes, in spite of all girly loyalty, I have to wonder, deep down inside, if their clothes don’t have something to do with it.

You see, while you’re examining the minute hand stitching, and reveling in the fabric, handmade in Outer Mongolia by blind peasants, men look at one thing: do you look hot. If you’re wearing a shapeless bag, that looks like it belongs on a hotel cleaning lady, chances are, you don’t.

So next time you shop, forget what the fashion pack tells you – consider what men will think – is it hot?
