Pamper your bosy NOT just your face!

Women often pamper and spend fortunes on their faces but neglect their bodies. However, having amazing, healthy, well-moisturized body skin is imperative to showcase one's natural beauty. As skin is the largest organ of our body, it is vital that we keep our skin moisturized at all times. Here are the three main differences between facial and body skin:

  • Skin Cell Turnover Rate: Most of the time, our body skin is covered unlike our facial skin. Less environmental exposure results in a slower skin cell turnover rate in body skin. This means that there is less natural exfoliation resulting in more dead skin cell.
  • Sebaceous Glands: Oily skin is caused by active sebaceous glands that produce a substance called sebum, a natural healthy skin lubricant. Our body skin has fewer sebaceous glands than our facial skin resulting it being less oily. In addition, our body loses up to 100grams of water a day, especially in air-conditioned areas. Hence, dryness is a common issue.
  • Skin thickness. Skin thickness can vary depending on a person's age, different body parts, the amount of sun exposure a person has experienced over time, and a person's health. The corneal layer, which is the thin, outermost sub-layer of the epidermis, is thicker on areas
  • of the body that need more protection or more grip, such as the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Sun exposure influences the thickness of the corneal layer, as well. Someone who spends little time in the sun will have a thin corneal layer, which provides less protection from the sun and allows the sun's rays to penetrate more deeply.

Here are some tips to care for your body skin:

1. Hot water will strip the moisture and oils out of your skin, leaving it parched, dry and scaly. Use warm water instead of hot water, and limit your bath to 15 minutes at the most.

2.Instead of using a bubble bath, find a soothing oatmeal or milk powder that will enhance your bath experience, and leave the oils where they belong.

3.Pat Dry, Don't Rub Dry. By patting dry (or gently rubbing), your skin will be able to retain more of the moisture you're going to seal in with your moisturizer

For these reasons, it's a good idea to have on hand, products that are designed with body skin in mind. VASELINE® TOTAL MOISTURE® PRODUCTS got you covered for skin dryness.  Nourish your skin
every day with Vaseline® Total Moisture® with Stratys 3TM technology. The breakthrough technology
