Rowenta Lissima Hairdryer

The Rowenta Lissima, recently launched in Singapore, claims to be the only hair dryer that straightens and shines your hair as it dries it. Its Ultra-Liss System, a patented system combining both ion technology and solid ceramic technology, infuses negative ions into the hair shaft as it moves through ceramic plates to create a straight, smooth look.

I was initially sceptical of the claims until I saw the Lissima transform the thick, wavy hair of a model into a sleek, straight style at a live demonstration. To my knowledge, such a transformation was only possible with the help of flat hair irons which can severely damage hair. The Lissima's maximum temperature for its straightening mode is only 79 degrees Celcius, and is thus considerably more gentle than conventional flat irons.

I tried the Lissima for a week, and found the appliance to be very user-friendly. It was lightweight, easy to grip, could be used with just one hand and didn't require an additional brush. As for the straightening function ? my hair is already straight, so while there was some effect, it was not a very noticeable difference.

What impressed me most was how fast it dried my hair. I am not entirely sure if this has anything to do with the Ultra-Liss System or the ion technology, but my hair certainly dried a lot faster when I used the Lissima (even on the low setting), as compared to my regular hairdryer. Another noticeable difference was that the Lissima did not leave my hair feeling "fried", unlike my regular hairdryer.

The fact that I could use my usual leave-in conditioner and other styling products together with the Lissima was a big plus.

Overall, I found the Lissima a user-friendly consumer product which simplifies the daily job of drying and styling hair. While those with unruly, wavy tresses might benefit most from the Ultra-Liss System, those with straight hair will still benefit from the convenience the Lissima offers.

The Rowenta Lissima is retailed at the recommended price of $69.90 and is available at major department stores, electrical chain stores and authorised dealers.

This hairdryer not only cares for your hair but its ionic properties ensure that your hair is protected from styling damage and dry ends! The Rowenta Lissima is in a class of its own for its ultra stylish design, great colour and wicked styling abilities! I love that it can make rebonded hair straighter and more glossy with its patented Ultra-Liss system that uses ceramic plates that won't damage your ends. Well worth for gals with rebonded hair to invest in!
