Resembling an apothecary's offering in its tidy packaging with succinct wording, this little green bottle lacks pretension and promises exactly what's stated on the label. Unfortunately, with its price tag ($16.90), The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil has to deliver results, for it to be a worthy purchase. Although I know people who have sworn by its effectiveness, The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil has sadly failed to rock my world. I have combination-sensitive skin, which makes for an extensive skincare regime and a very empty wallet. Having acne-prone skin generally, you can imagine how bad a time I had as a teenager. I received The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil as a gift, in my teens. I then used it for a few weeks,to my detriment. It did not dry up existing spots (of which I then had a few) and instead, made those offending zits more septic. Hideous and in pain, I hastily made a gift of my Tea Tree Oil to a friend with more normal skin. She loved it. What can I say? I would not recommend this product to people with fussy skin, like me. You never know what problems it might give you. In my case, spending a load of money on dermatologists and prescriptions was only way to go. However, seeing as The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil appears to work for many people with normal skin, I would say that it is still far cheaper to buy The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil than to pay for prescription medicines. To all the students (ie. people with no money) out there - salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide have always worked on spots and will continue to do a good job. There is no point in spending approximately 5 times more on a microscopic bottle of branded tea tree oil, for similar results.

First used Bodyshop's tea-tree oil range of products 10 years ago. This particular tea-tree oil pre-blend was great back during teenage school days when my skin was going through transitions with the occasional outbreaks! What I really appreciated about this product is that I could use it directly on affected areas (pimples, etc), and it dries up the problem within a matter of 2~3 usages! I use it mostly for spot/localised applications, hence the small bottle can last me for months, so it's pretty value for money in my opinion.

I love using the Bodyshop tea tree oil to zap any spots on my face. It dries up the zit and kills all the bacterial effectively. I also love the smell of tea tree. I've tried several brands but I still gravitate towards the Bodyshop range. I would not however recommend anyone with sensitive skin to use this product as it can cause the skin reddening and some stinging. I also love to add a few drops of this to water in a spray bottle and spray it over my pillow for an antibacterial effect. =)

My interest for herbal and essential oil stuff started when I was in JC. Since then, I have been using this product. I have sensitvie and combination skin. My skin is rather clear besides those times before my period and when I am really stressed by work and stuff. Things to take note: This oil is not a pre-blended oil contains 15% tea tree oil. Hence, it can be used directly onto the skin. Normally when I notice any pump/pimple on my face, I would wet my fingers with this oil and lightly dab it onto the problem area. For small pump caused by irritation/small pimple, it takes around a night for it to go down. For large painful and red pimples, it takes 1 or 2 days for it to go down. I like this product because it is gentle on my skin while it displays its healing and anti-bacterial properties. Yes, it has a strong smell but after a while I am used to it. And although the bottle seem small, a little bit of the oil can go a long way. So I would recommend this oil for those who have occasional pimples like me.

I have been using The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil intermittently over the last 3 years. In the last few months I started to use this product more often. Firstly, I was annoyed to go back to The Body Shop after revamping their Tea Tree Range to find out that they increased the price of their Tea Tree Oil from $14.90 to $16.90. The bottle size is on the small side and the increase in price was definitely not welcomed. Usage wise, the product works very well although it does have a pungent smell of tea tree oil during application.
