Corky's New Legs! Pictured: Post Surgery Corky is a cat who was born with bilateral arthrogryposis, meaning his rear legs were twisted around backwards. He was scheduled to be euthanised in Fargo, North Dakota, but Amber Schaffer and Carol Stefonek of the Cats Cradle Shelter stepped in. Dr. Dan Burchill, who carried out the surgery, says Corky was a "happy, healthy, engaging, fun cat who dragged his back legs around". After considering all options, like amputating him and putting him in a wheelchair, Burchill determined he would be able to surgically fix his legs. The surgery was complicated, but successful. Corky is now learning to walk with daily physical therapy. USA - May 2012 MANDATORY CREDIT: CATS CRADLE SHELTER/ - -
