Dingo blamed for azaria chamberlain disappearance
A missing child case chronicled in MERYL STREEP's movie A CRY IN THE DARK has been closed after an Australian official ruled the infant was taken by a dingo.

A coroner in Darwin concluded on Tuesday (12Jun12) that a dingo or wild dog snatched nine-week-old Azaria Chamberlain from a tent during a family camping trip in 1980. Azaria's parents Lindy and Michael had maintained from the beginning that their baby was taken by a dingo, and the case went on to become one of Australia's most famous unsolved mysteries and inspired the 1988 hit drama. Streep received a slew of awards and an Oscar nomination for her role as Lindy Chamberlain.
