Godspell to close on broadway
The New York revival of hit musical GODSPELL is set to close, just seven months after it opened on Broadway.

The production began previews in October (11) before its official debut the following month (Nov11), and has featured Weeds star Hunter Parrish and actor Corbin Bleu in the lead role of Jesus. But now, after almost 300 performances, the stars are gearing up for the final show at the Circle in the Square Theatre on 24 June (12). A message on the musical's official Twitter.com page, which was re-tweeted by Bleu, reads, "After 9 joyous months, Godspell must close on June 24th. THANK YOU to our fans - YOU are the Light of the World!" Lead producer Ken Davenport says, "I've never been more proud of a show than I am of Godspell. It will be in our hearts and the hearts of everyone who saw it forever." The production was originally set to open in 2008, but was postponed due to a lack of funding.
