Publisher george randolph hearst, jr. dead at 84

The eldest grandson of revered publishing mogul WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST has died.

George Randolph Hearst, Jr. died on Monday (25Jun12) at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. He was 84. Hearst, Jr. held executive positions at his family's Los Angeles Examiner, San Francisco Examiner and Los Angeles Herald-Express, of which he later became the publisher. He also became the publisher of the Herald Examiner in 1967.
