Selita ebanks makes quick costume change ahead of red carpet

Supermodel SELITA EBANKS persuaded a New York City shopkeeper to re-open minutes before a red carpet event last week (begs18Jun12) - because she didn't have anything to wear.

The beauty, who was previously engaged to Nick Cannon, was set to appear at the Life & Style Summer Style Awards bash in the Big Apple on 20 June (12) when she had a last-minute change of heart about her outfit. She tells the New York Post, "I pulled up to the carpet and I had on this blueish outfit, and I just wasn't feeling it." The quick-thinking model then asked her driver to circle the block and make a pit stop at boutique Scoop in the hope workers would still be there after-hours. Luckily the sympathetic owners bent the rules for the 29 year old, enabling Ebanks to grab a new dress and dash back to the event just in time. She jokes, "(I) begged them to open the store for me... minutes later, (I was) walking the carpet."
