Teenage christian bale tried to romance drew barrymore

Pregnant bride-to-be DREW BARRYMORE was once romanced by a young CHRISTIAN BALE - but the attraction fizzled out after a disastrous first date.

The Batman Begins hunk reveals he tried to woo Barrymore by taking her to the movies when they were both teen stars, but the night didn't go quite as well as he'd hoped. He tells GQ Australia, "We went to see some bloody awful horror film, and that was the end of it. She never called again." Barrymore is now engaged to wed Will Kopelman, while Bale has been married to Sandra Blazic for 12 years.
