Secrets of Repairing Minor Mirror Chips

If you have an old mirror, or even a new one that has had the silver layer chipped or scratched, then knowing how to repair it is a great cost saver. Of course, there are people who do this kind of repair, and if it’s a valuable or antique mirror, and the damage is extensive, you will want to seek professional advice, but small damaged patches are easy to repair yourself. One way to do this is to buy special silver paint, which can be costly, and apply it to the damaged area. However, for small chips, especially if they’re on the edge of the mirror, ordinary aluminium foil works wonders. Simply smooth as much as you can, and glue in place. Once the glue has dried, you should have a virtually undetectable repair.
