Abraham lincoln takes over top spot at the u.k. box office
ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER has bounced back from its poor start at the American box office over the weekend (22-24Jun12) to land atop the U.K. film charts.

The period piece movie, which was co-produced by director Tim Burton and suggests America's 16th President had a secret life as an action man, grossed $1.9 million (£1.2 million) in the U.K. and Northern Ireland to beat Will Smith's Men in Black sequel to the top of the box office. The fantasy horror film debuted in third place in America at the weekend with $16.5 million (£10.3 million). Men In Black 3 stays put at number two on the new U.K. countdown and The Five-Year Engagement takes over the third spot. All three films made in excess of $1.6 million (£1 million). Last week's U.K. and Northern Ireland box office number one, Prometheus, dropped to four.
