Bass legend donald duck dunn honoured in memphis
Fans of late bass player DONALD 'DUCK' DUNN took to the streets of Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday (23May12) to pay a musical tribute to the star.

The 70-year-old bassist was found dead in his hotel room in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday (13May12), and just four days after his passing he's been honoured in his home city. Musicians playing trumpets, saxophones and drums led a lively funeral march down the area's Beale Street and more than 100 fans walked and danced during the rally to remember Dunn. Soul singer/songwriter Eddie Floyd, who was on tour with Dunn when he died, revealed the bassist felt unwell during his last show but adds, "He was outstanding. He didn't miss a note. I guess it was just his time." Jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum adds, "He was about respect and humility. You respect black music's heritage and we love you for it."
