Howard donald causes neighbourhood fuss with renovation
British singer HOWARD DONALD has infuriated neighbours with construction work to build a basement under his London townhouse.

Builders are digging more than nine feet (three metres) below the four-storey $7 million (£4.4 million) property to create a playroom for the Take That star's two daughters, as well as living quarters for a nanny. But locals are less than happy with the ongoing excavation work, which is costing Donald an estimated $400,000 (£250,000). One resident tells the Evening Standard newspaper, "We predicted this would cause a lot of trouble and we were right. We've been condemned to months of noise and inconvenience." A spokesman for Donald insists the pop star is "doing his utmost" not to disrupt the neighbourhood. The representative says, "With any construction works, especially to a residential property, the neighbouring properties will be affected, but he is doing his utmost to minimise the impact and will continue to do so right up until it is completed. "The contractors are fully vetted by the professional entities. They include a project manager, quantity surveyor, architect and structural engineer and have been in dialogue with the neighbouring property owners advising on the works."
