Noel gallagher takes aim at irish sport

Rocker NOEL GALLAGHER has risked infuriating his fans in Ireland after branding ancient Gaelic sport hurling "just wrong".

The former Oasis star was in the country for a gig with his new band High Flying Birds at Dublin's Croke Park this week (ends01Jul12), but insisted he was unimpressed with the traditional stick-based game. He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Hurling is just gang war with sticks. Gaelic football is a great game and quite exciting - but hurling? F**k that. Any sport where you have to wear a helmet is just wrong."
