Rocker dave okumu electrocuted on stage

British rocker DAVE OKUMU is recovering after he was electrocuted on stage last week (ends20May12).

The lead singer of The Invisible was in Lagos, Nigeria on Thursday (17May12) when he suffered a "life-threatening electrocution" and was taken to a medical centre for emergency treatment, according to BBC News. He was released on Friday (18May12) following a full check-up and, according to the British Council of Nigeria, he is "doing well" and only suffered a sprain from his subsequent stage fall. Okumu took to his Twitter.com account on Monday (21May12) to thank fans for their concern, writing, "Thanks for all kind words.This has been one of the worst experiences but, as my mother taught me, it is possible to transcend all things with love." The band, which has performed with the likes of Adele and Hot Chip, have since cancelled a slew of upcoming performances. But the rockers are still expected to stage a show at the London 2012 Olympics River of Music Festival in July (12).
