British star ED SHEERAN is eyeing an assault on the U.S. charts after collaborating with country queen TAYLOR SWIFT.

The singer enjoyed a stellar 2011 after shooting to fame in the U.K. with his debut album +, and now he is hoping for a taste of Stateside success after meeting up with Swift for a songwriting session. He hinted at the collaboration in a cryptic post on his Twitter.com page on Tuesday (15May12), tweeting, "Writing songs with a very cool artist today..." before later telling fans, "In and Out Burger (U.S. restaurant chain In-N-Out Burger), defacing guitars and writing music with Taylor Swift." On her Twitter page, Swift writes, "Eating cheeseburgers, scribbling on guitars, writing songs with Ed Sheeran."
