I do not know about other moms, but for me, the first time I realized just how much my life had changed after having a baby, was the first time I had to pack a diaper bag. Until that moment, my life had been simple – grab my bag, and get out there. A diaper bag, however, is the single most important accessory you will have as a new mom. In the first few months, it will house bottles, formula, nappies, wipes and more. Later on, it will hold toys, snacks and more. Look for a diaper bag that is made from a strong, durable material. Denim and canvas are good choices, or one of the newer nylon or polyester options. Another important thing to look for is pockets on the outside of the bag, which will make reaching bottles, pacifiers, medication, and other important items easier. Whichever bag you do eventually choose, make sure that it matches your style – after all, you are going to be seeing a lot of it for a year or two!
