How to Bring the Spa Into Your HomeThe thought of a relaxing, soothing spa treatment is probably very high on most working women’s lists. The pampering, relaxing, and just having a little me time is a big draw card too.

However, going to the spa is probably not something most of us can do, with financial constraints, kids, work and other issues. That doesn’t mean you can’t give yourself a spa treatment at home though!

First things first – go stock up on products. Spa treatments cost a fortune, so you can justify spending a little on home treatments, can’t you? There are some great options out there, whether you want a home chemical peel, or just a relaxing treatment! Look for face masks, foot scrubs, body oils and anything else you love the look of.
Make sure the kids and the man are out of the house. Then take a long, hot bath, and spend some time experimenting with your spa product finds. You’re guaranteed to feel amazing, look better, and be a lot more relaxed.

How to Give Yourself a Pedicure at HomeAhhh. A pedicure. Pure luxury. But pricey. If you’re on a tight budget, why not try giving yourself a home pedicure? It can really lift your spirits, and will make your feet look like a million bucks.

First, get out a nice big basin, and fill it with warm water. Add your favorite bath salts, and sit yourself down in front of the TV, or with some music on. Relax.

Once you’ve soaked your feet, you can take them out of the water, pat them dry, and then use an exfoliating foot scrub. If you don’t have a scrub, mix a little olive oil with sugar or salt, and use that instead. Then wash, and re-dry your feet.

Next, while they’re still soft, push the cuticles on your toes back, and trim your nails – remember – always trim them straight – cutting into the cuticles will result in ingrown toenails! All that’s left to do is add a slick of color, and you’re good to go with your DIY pedicure.

Most of us have heard of using nail polish to stop a run in panty hose and of using lemon juice to prevent sliced fruits from turning brown. But there are hundreds of uses for other everyday household items that you might not be so aware of.
