• Pola Products!

Hullo all, wondering if anyone has used any Pola products before. Am thinking of switching to it for skincare cos i read rave reviews on MUA for the white series. :cigar:

I am using the 1/f sunscreen and find it excellent for my skin[just that I have to moisturise first cos its quite 'dry'] and just bought the white wash[very foamy but does not leave skin feeling tight, similar consistency to kose rutina pure white cleanser, a little goes a long way!], does anyone here have any experience with the other products such as the toner, moisturiser and mask? I am personally too lazy to use a toner so am looking more towards the latter two.

Actually been having quite a few clogged pores on my cheeks and t zone recently thats why I have decided to change my skincare[previously using fenatty] but not sure if it is the right thing to do too.. *sigh*

Thanks very much for reading this, would appreciate any info on Pola at all!

okay, i'll be comparing pola 1/f SPF30 with clinique super city block SPF25.

i have combination skin that is dehydrated but oily around the forehead, oily around the nose, and normal everywhere else.

first off - pola is supposed to finish matte. okay, i'll give it that - because it doesn't grease you out like how others can. however, it doesn't *mattify* - i guess i misunderstood the product here. i've got a shiny forehead which is not oily - it is actually dehydrated and feels really tight - but is shiny for some irritating reason. pola did not clear that up - MAC blot did, though.

clinique's OTOH *can* leave you a bit dewy but it finishes off really beautifully in the end for me. rather natural, didn't really make me greasy. i actually like the finish better than pola's. again, a little bit of MAC blot and off i go.

texture-wise, pola's is really like milk. very light and goes on smoothly. blend, of course, or else you get those funny-looking white streaks. it reminds me of shiseido's light sunblock, i don't know what it's called, refer to the posts above it's easy to blend and it actually *feels* greasy when you put it on - very slippery. after a while it settles down, and everything's ok again.

clinique's is more like a cream, and is easy to blend too. it isn't greasy on me. i like the feel of it - it is definitely a bit heavier than pola's, but nothing terrible.

pola's does not leave a white cast, and neither does clinique's. pola's is white in colour whereas clinique's is tinted. whenever i wear super city block, i look like i've got tinted moisturiser on .. i don't mean to say that it looks like i've got makeup on, but the coverage on me is like that of a tinted moisturiser. pola's doesn't do that for me.

you only need a little bit of both to cover your face. i tend to use a bit more because i burn easily.

clinique's has no smell. pola's smells like floor detergent!

in the end, i prefer clinique's because:

it's easier for me to get it here in australia

i like the slight coverage that it gives

i'm not sure how much pola costs, but i'm happy to pay AUD$27 (duty-free) or AUD$34 (in dept stores) for super city block

i like the finish

it doesn't smell like lemon-scented floor detergent!

                            i hope that helps someone!

just plucked up the courage to use the pola suncreen today... pola suncut 1/f....

                              Conclusion: I like it.

                              1. matte finish ie, no shiny face after application
                              2. lightweight. milk texture. easy to blend.
                              3. no white cast
                              4. cheap
                              5. no allergy
                              6. higher spf than skii

overall i think this is a very decent sunscreen. i have got combination skin, slightly oily tzone. this is white, not tinted (i kinda dont like tinted sunscreens sometimes)

happy that this works well for me.
