  • Facials (Consultants)

I am thinking of going for regular facials. I just bought a bright lamp for my dresser yesterday & I realised that my face is full of clogged pores, whiteheads & blackheads!

Do you think facials will help? Anyone has a good, gentle, non pushy & not too expensive facialist to rec?

    TIA!

Facial will help reduce white/blackheads but I think won't completely remove them forever. That's why need to go regularly. You can try beauty inspirations @ Far East Plaza. Nice ppl, not too expensive, not pushy, use Dermalogica & Peelactic products. As for gentle ... well, they use tools for extraction. If u want the old fashion way, can ask for Emily. HTH!

Facials have definitely worked for me!! They've banished big-time breakouts, and I hardly get zits any more...even if I do, they never become full-blown. Plus, I used to have so many oil clogs in my skin last time, now they're history!

      What's your budget anyway?

Pan, I've already PM atypical with my glowing review (with glowing skin to prove ) of the sonic cleanse.
The Derma RX Comedone Formula really did the trick for me. Great reduction in clogged pores and one bottle (reasonably priced) sets to last me a looooooong time. Plus, I think my pores are starting to shrink a bit.

OK, you just did my job for me then! *LOL*

Incidentally, my SO started using the Comedone thingee recently....hahahah.....I will have to report back on that.

And hey Farah, I found that once I started having facials regularly, I didn't have to mask at all! 8O

Alamak now its everything - clogged pores etc....Atypical u look really great....really can't see all those problems u have named?

I wld say save your $$ dear. U really need to go for regular facials to see effect and once u stop the problems it will come back. I used to go for regular facial then stopped for last two mths becos of tight schedule and my pimples, enlarged pores etc started coming back. I find facials only temporary in solving those problems. U will glow immediately after facials and that will stay for abt a week then its back to square one again. U still have to do mask and maintain your skin after that. For me I go for facials more for relaxing than cosmetic reasons....IMO

Yeah once I have gone to have facials regularly and then stopped for a while, my face will look drained and with clogged pores even though I do masks diligently at home

So gals, how often do you have facials at the salon?? I do it once a week  but I want to do it once in two weeks as it's too expensive. The salon I went to use Phytomer and PTR stuffs. Right now I usually have bha facials there as I have really acne-prone skin now.

wow that's really frequent! i got once in 3-4 weeks at leonard drake which uses dermalogica, i don't think i can stand going any more often coz it bores the crap out of me to lie down and do nothing for 2-3 hours

in between, i use phytomer peeling vegetal and avene moisture mask 1-2x a week and if i remember, my panasonic pore cleanser to nudge some stuff out of my clogged pores

since i don't break out all that much for clogged pores, i just leave them alone till the next facial if i can't DIY

I always fell asleep when I have my facial treatment. Do they do body massage in Sg? My facial includes an upper-body massage.

Actually I do know that I went there too frequently but I think my skin is addicted! If I didn't go there at least once in two weeks, it will be out of control - many really huge zits appear and my skin is very *dirty* :|

*Touch Wood* My skin is getting less acne-prone recently so I am thinking to try visit there once in two weeks again. It's too exp and I have to cut expenses!

i'm insomniac and a light sleeper so the only time i fell asleep during facial was when i was on medication

anyway, there are some facials with massage in SG, depends on the facial you choose and the place you go to
