what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?

What do you look for in an exfoliator?

    How often do you exfoliate?

Silly me just realised I don't have a 'proper' exfoliator. Im using Lush's Angels on Bare Skin and Mask of Magnaminty, which both exfoliate slightly but not much. So I'd love to know what you girls are using nowadays to keep your skin bright and clear!

    Thanks in advance!

what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?

      1) chemical - phytomer vegetal exfoliant
      2) physical - shu urema exfoliant

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?

Depends on how my skin feels....

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?

skin feel softer and smoother immediately. less whiteheads as well.

What do you look for in an exfoliator?

      1) texture and feel. for physical, i find that the natural grains are too rough. i like shu as the grains become smaller as i rub.

      2) scent. im not too picky about this but it has to smell decent!

      3) packaging - i hate to dip my fingers into anything.
      How often do you exfoliate?
      whenever i remember or
when my skin feels like it needs to breathe or
      when my skin feels lumpy

I have stopped exfoliation for about 2 months due to the derm advice - i have very sensitive skin. However, i do itch to use the scrubs although i should be getting sufficient daily exfoliation from the vit C serum and moistriser with pha.

what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?

        so far.....

        1) Darphin Mild Aroma Peeling
        - Because I can just rub it into my skin and leave it overnight like a mask. and its so gentle that it doesn't dry out my skin, but at the same time, really makes it smoother and my little bumps would flatten out overnight!

        2) Nu skin's exfoliator, can't exactly remember the name...
        - Because the grains are really smooth and feels very even, the product is also rather condensed, meaning that there are a lot of grains in a measure, so I feel like I've given my skin a good scrub. It also feels smoother and clearer...

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?

        I have no preference here....

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?

        1) The surface of my skin becomes less bumpy.
        2) Less blackheads.
        3) Smoother skin.

What do you look for in an exfoliator?

        1) Smooth grains if its a physical one...
        2) The ability to give my skin a real glow.
        3) The ability to clear my skin of all dead cells and blackheads without drying it out or making it raw and red.

        How often do you exfoliate?

        1) about once a week
        2) When my face feels clogged up by makeup and starts having lots of little bumps.

what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?

I have used a few which are not bad eg. Dermalogical Microfoliant, but my fave now got to be Epidermx. Just bought another through CozySpree.

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?

Physical coz the effect is more obvious and I can really feel the dead cells being lifted from my skin surface. Chemical scrubs sometimes make my skin sensitive. Moreover, my skin is "strong" enough for rougher scrubs.

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?

Clearer skin. More even skin surface.

What do you look for in an exfoliator?

The ability to clear my skin of all dead cells and blackheads. Clean after-feel.

            How often do you exfoliate?

            1-2 times a week.

              Exofoliators Poll

what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?

Currently using Origins NADM and Perfect Potion Bare Faced Facial Exfoliant

NADM works well to lift the grime out from the pores. Bare Faced works double duty as a scrub and a mask for me. plus it smells lovely (lavender-ish)!

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?

Physical. have only 'dabbled' with chemical (AHA-based) ones so far and they don't seem to work as well. i like how squeaky clean and fresh my skin feels after exfoliating.

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?

less blackheads. less clogged pores. clearer skin. moisturiser sinks in better.

What do you look for in an exfoliator?

scent? i'm a bit picky with that. size of scrub granules.

              How often do you exfoliate?

i try to aim for at least 1-2 times a week.

                Re: Exofoliators Poll

what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?
Kerstin Florian Exfoliating Scrub - really helps get rid of blackheads esp on t-zone

Awake Deep Purity Clay Wash - gentle enough for my sensitive skin and beads are not too rough

Darphin Mild Aroma Peeling - very gently rubs away dead skin cells

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?
physical (chemical ones tend to irritate my sensitive skin)

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?
                cleaner and clearer skin

What do you look for in an exfoliator?
                - not too abrasive grains (preferrably not "natural" ones e.g. apricot kernels, extremely abrasive)
                - able to exfoliate yet gentle enough on my sensitive skin

                How often do you exfoliate?
usually 1x a week or when I feel that my pores are very clogged or blackheads visible on my nose

i love Lush's Angels on Bare Skin. it leaves my skin very soft and smooth. my fave.

another rave is EL's MicroD. i use this once in a while coz i got really sensitive skin. i first bought this on a whim when i didn't know what to get and was in desperate need of an exfoliator. my skin had lots of clogged pores and after using this just once, my skin looked less congested and it felt smoother as well. recommended it to 2 other friends and they're diehard fans too.

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?

                    physical.

dabbled with chemical ones and while they worked great in the beginning, guess why i've sensitive skin now. i wish i never touched those things.

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?

cleaner skin. also feels smoother and softer to touch. and definitely less congested and clogged.

What do you look for in an exfoliator?

one that is ideal for my sensitive skin. and it'll be good if it can get rid of all the nasties in a flash.

                    How often do you exfoliate?
aim for once a week or sometimes 2 depending on my skin condition and if i'm not too lazy.

                      Angel's on Bare Skin definitely!

Love Dermalogica Microfoliant too, but that's abit drying compared to AOBS.

                        Dermalogica Microfoliant, so far.

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?
enzyme exfoliant. Abrasive exfoliator is not suitable for my mature skin. Low % of AHA/BHA it's still OK for me to tolerate!

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?
evens out skin tones, firms up the skin and creates a radiant youthful glow.

What do you look for in an exfoliator?
Non-abrasive. I wd also look at the ingrediants.

                        How often do you exfoliate?
                        Three times a week.

what's your favourite facial exfoliator and why?
                            Dermalogica's cream exfoliant
                            Chanel Gommage Eclat express

Do you prefer chemical or physical exfoliators?
Both, but I use and like only AHA based chemical exfoliant. and for physical scrubs, the grains have the either dissolvable or spherical.

What improvements have you seen with exfoliation?
Skin looks clearer and generally brighter, loosens up clogged pores for easy removal, removes flakiness(if any)

What do you look for in an exfoliator?
Gentle is the way to go for my skin. Has to exfoliate efficiently but yet very gently. I dont like even mild stinging sensations.

                            How often do you exfoliate?
Depends, anything from twice a week to once in few weeks (if I'm lazy) :p

                              thanks girls!

I just bought Lush's Ocean Salt. Very 'zesty' and refreshing. Definitely good for exfoliating! Heard it's detoxifying as well. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I see results.
