  • Facial Help!

i went for a facial yesterday and the beautician did the extraction for me, followed by a soothing mask... but my face looks horrible after the facial, with red dots and patches all over, concentrated in the lower cheek sides... and today, the situation is better but some red things are still there and obvious....

do you all experience this after facial? or how can i recover fast from it? any way to get rid of these red things overnight?

    please help help!!!

I experienced that everytime when I went for my facial appointment. It's unavoidable. Mine will be gone in 2 to 3 days time. if you really don't like to look red and swollen, maybe let your beautician know that she can be more gentle or try not to extract too much?

I used to have that too. Btu after I switched my facial to Leonard Drake, I don't have that problem. My face don't even feel painful or sensitive after that! In fact my friends commented that I look cleanner!!! But they do perfrom extractions. In fact my hubby thinks that LD does a cleaner job that my previous facials.

Hi, Cutefish! Welcome to CC Have you done an intro so we can get to know you a little?

Usually, after the works, your facialist would apply some kind of lotion to soothe the spots. It should take about a day or two for them to subside. I'd say you lay off any masking for the next two days. Afterall, you have just gone through a complete facial, right? Unless perhaps your skin is the really dry/dehydrated type, then you might wanna use a hydrating mask a day later.

why do bumps appear after facials? is it because all the grime is coming out of the pores and onto the surface?

it scared me off so i don't do facials anymore but would like to try it again some time.

              Blotched facial ? HELP !

i went for my first trial with senses renaza at ann siang hill on 30th nov 06. any one went there before ?
had grapevine facial. result : BIG RED PATCHES on my cheeks and at the side of my left eye. there were also red spots everywhere on my face, jawline and forehead, the skin at the tip of my nose was also peeling. the next day, the redness went down abit but i have bright red spots on my face, and also some brownish red spots. some spots looked burned. i dont really dont know how to describe. HELP! shall i see a dermalogist? any advice? what is happening? will my skin return to normal?

              the ordeal
after filling up the skin condition form, the branch manager, jasmine recommended western accuppunture for my dark circle. however when i was inside the facial room, Amanda, the beautican said although my skin is good and looked clear, its very congested below and recommended me to do a grapevine facial, supposed to be some cream to be applied on my face and dead skins will be removed when cream is rub off. sound normal right ? she assure that with this facial no need to do extraction as everything will be rubbed off to reveal radiant skin. after that she will do ultrasound for my dark circles.

after cleansing my face, she put a so call PH mask to balance my skin 1st. i told her i feel a tingling sensation. she said this is normal and proceed to remove the mask and apply the grapevine cream which will also give a tingling sensation but its normal too. however, i felt very uncomfortable and my face felt heaty, more pain then tingling sensation, she then removed the cream and applied sos cream to sooth my skin. however, i still felt very uncomfortable, i felt my face was burning, she applied another layer of sos cream and said she 'll be back in a short while. i knew something was definately wrong. she brought the manager along who told her to put another ph mask and soak cotton pads in ice water to reduce the pain. she asked the beautican how long did she leave the cream. 1 minutes? she said 2. then they both kept quiet. the manager told me i am fine, except for some redness.

finally it was over (2 hour) and i looked into the mirror. i had BIG RED PATCHES on my cheeks and at the side of my left eye. there were also red spots everywhere on my face, the skin at the tip of my nose was peeling. they gave me some so call oxygen cream to apply. whatever is happening? any advice?

I think you should go see a dematologist asap. You can try going to see any of them raved in this forum like Dr John in Ghim Moh or Dr Ong in Tampines

drop whatever your're doing and go see a dermatologist immediatey!
this kind of reaction might result in some scarring/pigmentation to form if not treated quickly.
                    that all is well

what u have described sounds like what i go thru when i go for my monthly AHA masks.
Top level of skin is "burnt" and will take a couple of weeks to recover.
                      Do consult a dermatolost asap.

On top of seeking expert's treatment, do go down and demand compensation and demand an answer. ASk them to reveal what's in their products!! i suspect they could be using either fermented grapes enzyme (can be irritating but not harsh) or glycolic acids (harsh) on you....

i think the bumps are a results of your face being squeezed too hard? I don't get this problem when I go for facial at Kose last time because they also use machines as part of the extraction process. Sometimes my itchy fingers syndrome strike and I squeezed my own white/black heads, and I get these kind of bumps. But they usually subside after i sprayed my jurlique rosewater. rose water is known to calm down irritated skin. my friend swear by avene thermal spray too.

by the way, i used to go to PTR center for facial, and although i get the feeling that all my acnes/white/black heads were well cleaned, i get all these huge raging red bumps that doesn't subside until 4 days later.
