thanks for your reply, GG! i was just curious whether if it's possible to use cleansing oil since it removes our makeup on our face well.

I used cleansing oil to clean my brushes before. Same 'logic' behind ibonne's

I'm still considering which brand to use: MAC or Shu? Or someone would like to share a bottle with me?

Hey i had that same theory behind using cleansing oil for my brushes but never really had the guts to do it in fear of ruining it!
How did it turn out glossie? Sticky??

Glossie i dont mind sharing a brush cleanser with u as i am also not quite sure which one is better! PM me if u want to share okie?

No stickiness, Lil_Piggie. It's just like how it is when you rinse off your makeup! I still use this same theory now - with my current makeup remover (it's like Missha's cleansing water)

I've joined Jean's Shu spree. Perhaps you decide if you want MAC or Shu, then PM me? If you do decide to get MAC's, do LMK too! I wanna try them all!

I think the theory is to treat the brushes like you treat your hair. I never tried using cleansing oil to wash my brushes b4 as it has never come to my mind hahaha
I'm using shu's brush cleaner & washing my brushes only 2-3 times a year But I feel that if its just for my personal usage, don't need to wash it that often plus I'm lazy

Will normal shampoo suffice? Or must we use the specialised brush cleaners? I read in a few magazines before that it's alright if we use regular shampoo to wash our brushes.. :eh:

I think its OK to use cleansing oil to clean synthetic brushes, like foundation or concealor brushes. Really doubtful of the effects of using cleansing oil to clean natural hair brushes. Glossie, you tried with natural hairs as well?

just got to come back to this thread and didn't know that my question of using cleansing oil to clean brushes fetched some interesting answers from you gals.

ok, i admitted i did use my fancl cleansing oil, mixed with water to wash one of my brushes. thereafter rinsed with water. i was rather amazed by how quick the color (or dirt) like melted out to the cleansing oil with water. quite clean in fact. and doesn't feel oily if you rinsed well with water after that. edited to add that i used it on synthetic brush only.

i also experimented with my mild shampoo for most of the times because it's cheaper than using cleansing oil. haha. results also not too bad.

i just bought mac brush cleanser to give it a try. like an official treatment for my brushes.
