They hired a new designer a few years ago to revamp the brand, previously the bags were pretty old fashioned. The new stuff is quite nice. Still regret passing on those gorgeous jewel toned suede bags they had 2 years back.
I did a search before. And found that they are actually good in making shoes. They have sale on at taka. Been there, but can find anything suitable/afforable yet to my liking..
LOL. Thought I was the only "antique" here.... I got lots of Bally stuff from our stay in UK eons ago... I also thought of it as an "old folks" brand back then, but hack, it's so easily accessible in the place where we were living, plus it's cheap too! The shoes are very comfy. The shoes, bags and wallets I got are the clean classic designs. Real simple. I think they have revamped their image since a few (or maybe several?) years ago, carrying rather more colourful designs (they brought in a new designer), but I still prefer my older range though. Because I am now at that sort of age. *sigh*
Some ppl call its "baah-Lee" (sounds like Barley) and some call it "Beh-Lee" .. or "Bay-Lee"... the sales guy at Taka pronounced it as baah-Lee though.... my husband loved the summer yellow stripe range... He bought the sling yellow stripe bag to match his existing yellow stripe wallet and belt, in Geneva, I bought a black stripe bag too! And he bought the red stripe shoes too! Their new colour is suede in lavender.. nice!
