  • Contours Express

Very excited to see that a new women's gym is now being set-up, it specialises in circuit training which imho, is the most effective way to slim down, tried n tested by myself.

Contours Express - i just checked out the website, they only have one outlet at the moment, in International Plaza but will be opening up a branch in the heartlands very very near my place (Chua Chu Kang)! So happy cos I've been searching far and wide for a gym that is suited for me needs so I'm very excited and looking forward to its opening in May 07!

Anywayz, i just spoke to the person-in-charge and she told me their monthly membership rates are from $59-89.

One thing i'm worried about tho is that the place they're planning to set up the new outlet is very neighborhood so i don't know if their business can survive there. hope to rally more supporters from CC so that they can do well in CCK!!

i am a member at contours express for past 10 months. vibrant & comfy environment. u will feel at ease there. i especially enjoy the personalisation of the routine as i want to work on my tummy but due to lower back pain, doing sit up is not ideal. trainers there design the routine for me and i managed to drop 6 jeans size.

there is a contest going on now to get us to fit into old pants that is 5 sizes smaller than what we are currently wearing. its fun. dig ur wardrobe for your favourite old pants & come join us!

        6 jeans size?! :wow:

I've heard of this gym for awhile already... Think this thread should be under CozyFitness instead

Anyone else with experiences to share?

Am going through e 1 wk trial. I must say I love it. U get 3 different benefits in 1 go - body shaping, build stamina, lose weight. I can finish in 1/2 hr if I'm in a hurry and stay longer if I get off work early. No Q for equipment unlike other gyms.

Trainers are friendly and attentive. People seems to know each other. I chatted with a few who told me they been with Contours Express for 2 yrs, got results & loving it. I'll be joining after my trial.

How much you pay for the membershp? Do they have shower room? I heard that their prev branch in IP does not have shower facility.

I was asking around about this gym and got info from my friend who had enquired at this gym before. The trainers there are not certified trainer as they claimed they are. I believe my friend did ask to be shown their certification but there was none other than the one awarded by the franchise itself. The price they charge compared to other fitness club, you maybe better off engage a personal trainer to design your routine and work out in a gym.

One of the trainer who claimed to be a physiotherapist is not certified to practice here. When my friend ask her some questions, she can't really answer but give very generic non commitant reply.

It maybe quite risky to work out with non certified trainer as you may end up injuring yourself. Just be careful to ask such details before enroling in gym.

                    hi maylui77,
hv been away for a while. sori for late reply. it took me 7 mths to get that done and i go 3x a week. u need to watch your food intake as well. trainers there will guide u what to do. good luck in slimming down healthily.

                    hi coffee,
i don't know which outlet ur friend went to. i go to amoy st & trainers are certainly qualified. they're providing fitness coaching not physio treatment so why do they need to certified practice as physio???

i pay $69/mth get unlimited access to gym & no charge 4 coaching & diet consultation. personal trainer cost more than that for 1hr!!

Sounds like an OK deal, except for the location. Ah well, will have to give it a miss.

                          Hi there!

I am also interested in joining the CCK branch. Anyone know how the environment there? Is it nice? Saw from previous thread there is a price range for the membership fee, so what is the difference for the different pricing?

                              Hi Ahmin,

Can I check with you if the CCK branch is walkable from the CCK MRT? Or do we have to take a bus?

                              So its

                              Registration: $75
                              Membership: $69/mth (1 yr) or $89/mth (6 mth)

Is that fixed or we can get them to waive off registration etc like in some fitness centres?

                              Do they have shower facilities?
