i will try to post pictures when i take some. it's been a whirlwind of activity and i'm constantly out the whole day running about and trying to settle stuff. there're so many silly little things that i need to buy, like baskets for my toiletries and laundry, floor mats, face towels, hand soap... things that i take for granted in singapore but can't seem to find here! when i do find them, they're exhorbitantly expensive. eventually, i'll have to stop converting and take the plunge.
feeling really down now, since i don't quite like the place and i haven't quite settled in yet. missing my bf lots mainly, because i haven't managed to have our daily hour long phonecalls. somehow, without that, i can't seem to cope too well. so i'm basically counting down until he arrives and living in limbo.
have to get used to being with my mom 24-7 too since i'm so used to being indepedent. how ironic huh?
i'm trying to work up enough excitment now to head downstairs to the bar and socialise with a bunch of people getting drunk, getting to know each other, and then forgetting names immediately. yay.
sorry girls, in a really blue mood now. hopefully, it'll improve in a while.
glad to know you've arrived safely and that you're slowly adapting to your new environment. everything sounds very exciting.
well, one good thing about having a small space is that it can get really cosy. and everything is within reach.
how's the weather there? and when is school starting?
do keep in touch more often. as mentioned, i'm crossing my fingers that i'll be able to go over in nov. by then, you'll be well aquainted with the shopping areas.
You have overcome a period of long distance when he's in perth...you gonna make it again this time ya! It's never easy but it's not impossible...just tell yourself you can and you will. I'm not good with words but just wanna you to know that we'll be here for you if you need a listening ear...
We didn't really get any chance to know each other but hope you are happy now and no longer feeling blue.
Cos you know, alot of us would probably be willingly to take your place and be in London right now. So, you are a fortuate girl to be given this opportunity, make full use of it and make the best of your stay.
hi xue dear!
Hope everything's fine over there and do take care girl! I'm sure you'll start making lots of new friends soon.. to go shopping and all.. then you won't be bored and miserable anymore! Missing you already.. come back soon and don't forget to contact us all!!
it's wed morning my side and i'm getting ready for school. after i slept off my jet-lag and persuaded my mom to take it a little easier, it's got better. i'm feeling lots happier now, especially since my flatmates are lovely.
we went clubbing at the Student's Union yesterday, where we met a million random people and promptly forgot their names. the place was a mad crush of people! thankfully, people here are v friendly. you can just walk up to a group of people and introduce yourself. i guess it's because everyone's new and all of us just want to meet more people. it's really lovely how everyone here is so friendly and warm.
unfortunately, NO ONE can pronounce my name. URGH. they all think i'm shirley! no offence to any 'shirley's here, but i really don't like that name when i'm called it. it's just so not me! but i'd have to give up soon and concede defeat by giving myself an english name. it's better than waiting for them to give me one! any suggestions?
thanks for being so supportive girls. your little posts have really helped brighten up my mood and reminded me that there're still people who care for me even if i'm all alone in London.
you girls take care too and keep on meeting up k? and if you're coming to london, call me!!!

sounds like the problems i had back in nus!!! got called everything except my actual name.
why don't you shorten your name to either 'Xue' or 'Lin'?
'xue' is short and sweet. although you might end up getting called 'sure' instead.....
'lin' is easy enough even for english tongues
