        dont fret lulupig.
check your bedsheets first. the first hint of bedbugs can be seen at the edge seams. they should have some black staining due to the bed bugs' you know what. second, these stains stink. if u happen to see some small bug, kill it, it releases a horrible smell and there will be some blood stain. the bed bugs are reddish when they are well fed. they do not usually live on your skin. though small, the bed bugs are still visible under the naked eye.
if you find any on your beds, just sun the mattress and spray insecticides as the other cotters have suggested. hope it helps!

put the mattress under hot sun...it'll make bed bugs give up the war and then you can Zzzz in peace...

If the bedbugs are really stubborn after hours of being under sun, it looks like it's really time to replace mattress.

Also, not only bed bugs, if you are sensitive to dust mites (mine is dustmites, not bedbugs, typo error due to to Kancheong), u will also have scratches like mozzies bites when you sleep.

My bed has been infested by bed bugs before but after regularly changing of bed sheets, airing your room, and using bed bug spray sold from DIY stores, get rids of them completely . .

marshmallow: Yup, they have and it really works on bed bugs.
Cos my mattress was a new one and i cant throw it away so i had to source ways to get rid of them.

The last time, i bought the bed bug spray from DIY stores. Not sure they still have it now. The one i've used before doesn't have smell. Just remember to air and let some sun shine on your mattress after spraying so even if there's smell, it won't reside.

Actually many people misunderstand that dust mites can bite. Some friends told me dust mites are micro creatures so they don't bite but their faeces cause people to have allergic reaction like asthma, skin problems etc. I used to have asthma attacks every nite and my doc told me I am allergic to dust and dust mites. A friend recommended a specialised mattress cleaning & sanitising service provider. So far, I'm able to enjoy good sleep every night now. You can see their website at www.dh-asia.com Service was good and best of all, No Chemical involved and totally dry. =) Hope their service can help you just like how I've been benefited from it.

my SO brother's recently attacked by bed bug. he said it was really itchy and leave red spots on him. bed bugs move really fast by the way, its hard to catch, but please don't squeze them if you find one, as the eggs will spread out from the dead. i think the best way is to get rid of the matress, cos he told me by putting under the sun won't help to get rid of them. bed bugs are not easy to kill. they are imune to baygon! if there's many, the only way to solve the problem is to call the pest control.

Other than mattress/sofa, bugs can hide almost anywhere. Even found one on my guitar case!
After cleaning the mattress it's best to spring clean the entire room to ensure that the bugs are completely eliminated.
