    What is the chinese character for the dialect surname "TOW" ?

    help, does anyone know?

    which dialect does that person belong to? it'll be easier and you just go pronounce the word to the people with that common dialect they should know what is that surname?

    TOW(in hokkien/teochew, sorry im bad at it) seems like "tou" in chinese to me. hahaha bean. but got people with such surname?

              Not sure ... depends on dialect but my guess is:

              Tao2 as in Tao2 Tai4 (make obsolete)

              or

              Du4 as in Du4 Juan1 (cuckoo bird)

              Encoding stuffed up so no characters.

                Know someone with that surname, the chinese pronunciation is "du4".

                          why is it tay? so many different surnames can come from one tow.

                            That's why I like hanyu pinyin. Otherwise I just write the actual character. Dialect names drive me nuts. I can't even pronounce my own!
