Same as you, i expected it they would give the green light..especially after reading the article published in yesterday's Sunday Times.

But i was abit shocked to hear that there would actually be 2 casinos in such a small island of ours..1 in Marina Bay and 1 in Sentosa..

i knew it would be so.. since when has voicing out in singapore ever worked? we are given room for discussion but none for decisions... so heck.. what's the point.. and they blame as young ones for being so nonchalant about the happenings around us..

Marina Bay is such a nice place to chill and have fun with our families. I feel that with the opening of the casino there, it spoils everything. Well, revenue will always be the most important term found in the 'list'. :eh:

"Revenue" is supposed to be the ultimate decision for the green light..

But would you girls go? the entrance fee is still $100?

                I agree
&when our opinions are different from the govt, it seems like nothing really gets through them

The emphasis is on a theme park with a casino I guess, together the whole package would bring in alot revenue in terms of tourism.
I would go probably if my friends just want to have some fun. =)

this is actually anticipated long ago ...govt sure give a green light to it since it can provide them with more revenue and i think it is kind of fake to ask for the public for opinions when they already have in mind what they want.

i will never agree to this move

                        Huh?/
Pardon me... Need entrance fee one ah??
Aiyo.. I didn't knew about such terms.

Yep i agree with all of you.
When they give a slight hint that some project is coming up, means its going on.
There isn't much use with us going around debating whether we agree or not.
Anyway hope this does not bring up the number of gamblers and loansharks.

i hate this move and i believe it will create more social ills and govt going to hire more psychologists in the near future.

sometimes i just wish i can migrate overseas

I never think gambling is healthy in any ways. At the end of it, we will see more people in debts, more people who goes bankrupt, more loan-sharks & more positutions. How come they think its going to be a rich man's hobby? At the end of it, when the casinos don't generate enough revenue, it will be any civilian's activity already.

$100 to just enter the casino is pure madness. Imagine how many sprees I can participate in? But again, maybe to rich people, $100 is a mere small insignificant amount of money. I have better places to spend my $100.
