  • Great Restaurant! Yummy Food!

OK gals, let your tastebuds do the talking. Please nominate your favourite eating spot(s): restaurants, some obscure stall off the beaten track the serves the best XXX, etc. and clue us in as to what food they serve too! :D , and tell us all what your favourite food is. You can name a particular type of food, eg. Chinese/Cantonese, Japanese etc., or a particular dish.

Gosh, I'm getting hungry thinking about this thread!

Re: Your favourite food (type and / or dish) & restauran

hmmm i dont enjoy food much, a pity huh? whilst i'm particular about my food (i don take lots of stuff), i dont really care to savour the taste of fine cuisine, good food i eat more & lousy food i just take lil bites. & if i like a place, i keep coming back then i stop for a long time when i get sick of it...for now it's the teh tarik @ simpang bedok which is the corner stall that serves yummy prata & the food court @ shaw plaza tt serves HKG dim sum(i go there every sunday noon)! not forgetting royce chocs esp au lait, my mouth is watering...i need to buy them this weekend!

Can't think of a really fave place becos I am a food junkie as well..Love food....That is how I spend my weekends. Going ard trying out new restaurants with hubby and friends. Our fave past time! I like Japanese food best. Love the one at Tanglin Shopping Centre. That is one place that I keep going back. The sashimi is the freshest in town. For Italian, my fave is Prego...love their pastas...La Amis in Specialist for French Food, Shasteik for tender Steaks, Jiang Nan Jun at Four Seasons for Chinese food.......the list is never ending....

I love Japanese food! Especially the ones in Japan! Yum yum!

For French food, I like Devonshire Grill by Killiney Road. Great romantic setting, classy decor & scrumptious food. You have to try their Fois Gras! It's out of this world!

I love Grill on Devonshire too!!! I used to lunch there when I worked in that area...I find the quality of the food quite variable, but most of the time it's yummyyummy yummy! EVerything I tried before (fish, steak....whatever!) has not disappointed, although there was one time my colleague complained the steak was too dry.

I love the intimate atmosphere there as well, it's one of those best-kept secrets. :D

Yups. It's Grill on Devonshire, NOT Devonshire Grill.

Meow, I was so bowled over by how well the Fois Gras was done that everything else I ate, I forgot. Sorry, no recs for main course for me.
The prices are regular restaurant prices ... main courses are usually 20, 30plus?

Hey! That's a good thing to love!!! Wholesome & it'll hardly make you fat.

My husband & I like to make a very simple but tasty salad dreesing. Just dribble soy sauce & sesame oil on your lettuce & whatnot & Voila!.... Yummy! So fresh, light & delicious!

Speaking of Caesar Salads ... the BEST I've tasted is at Crossroads Cafe @ Marriot Hotel. It's got nice big Anchovies, freshly grated cheese, ooey gooey dressing, big delicious cheesy croutons with succulent grilled chicken on top! THE BEST!!! YUM! All this comes in a beautiful huge plate!!!

Stella I tried the Caesar Salad at Marriot Hotel. OMG, it came exactly as u described. The grilled chicken was delicious and juicy and I love the dressing and the cheesy crutons. Going back for more definitely. Even my hubby who usually thinks eating salad is like eating 'grass' loves it. Thanks!!

Those of you who live / work / shop around Bugis, do check out this delightful little Turkish restaurant in Shaw Tower (where Subway is...you can't miss the building)....it's on the 2nd floor and it's called SOFRA. (Was just there last weekend.)

They have a wonderful value-for-money set lunch at just $9.90++ which includes a starter (choice of salad / soup), main course (depending on which day you lunch; weekends you can choose any main from the set lunch menu), dessert (your choice!!!) and a drink (tea, coffee, apple tea etc.). Food is good and the set lunch is very very filling. Yum!!
