  • full body CT Scan recs?

    dear cotters,

my dad has been sick for quite some time, we have no idea what is wrong =( i would really appreciate it if anyone has a friend or doctor or specialist to recommend. The doctors do not have to be in Singapore once we pinpoint the problem.

    Symtoms :
    - breakout of rashes several times a day.
    - losing alot of weight
    - heart pain occassionally
    - lower leg has sharp pain

We have went to (i would appreciate if anyone has recommendations. more than 1 opinion is always good )

    - dermatologist
    - heart specialist
    - cancer specialist

    thank you

        Hi snowstar,
Dont mean to sound religious or superstitious but when the science doesnt explain, time to seek "spiritual" help..
Shrink as in a medium, excorsist.

        Try whatever that helps. :bestwish

how about Chinese physician? A good one will be able to help diagnose root causes hopefully. Some good physicians can be found at Chung Hwa Free Clinic at Toa Payoh central. Consultation is free.

Snowstar, I am sure those specialists must have run some blood test for your father. Have they ruled out things like SLE (System Lupus Erythromethosis?

On the other hand, is your father currently on any medications? Any newly added medicines? This can also be a case of adverse drug reactions

                    hi snowstar,

i do think the suggestion of seeing a Chinese physician (a renowned one would be ideal but i'm sorry, i don't know of any ) is a good one. it would be beneficial for his long term well being and cures the cause of the problem slowly but effectively. used in combination with whatever Western treatment you will be seeking, it will come in very handy. :bestwish

Has he been given through and detailed health check at a reputable hospital/clinic? If not, it might be a good idea to run all possible urine/stool/blood tests to find out the cause/s. I'm not sure how you take to TMC (traditional chinese medicine) but I'm a strong believer of it (in addition to medication administered by proper doctors of course). If you're keen, try Eu Yang Sang's physician, they're definitely reputable.

A little OT, but just to share, someone I know was disgnosed with liver problems after certain tests were run at a hospital when she went for a checkup, and she decided to give TMC a shot and so went to one of Eu Yang Sang's physician to see what the phycisian has to say. After asking numerous questions about the patient's lifestlye and habits, the physician took her pulse for 3-4 min. After which the physician correctly disgnose the patient's liver problems (the patient did not state so in the first place) as well as correctly the symtoms of the liver problems tht the patient was facing.

Do give TMC a shot. Will keep my fingers crossed for your dad.

yes, he had a full blood test about 3 months back and a partial one 1 month ago. The blood test was administered by Gleaneagles and Mt E.

i just worry that the specialists will not take a microscopic view of the illness and just focus on one thing. worried about focusing on trees instead of the forest.

does anyone have recommendations for a good doctor for a full body CT scan?

                        thanks

                          Hi snowstar,

From my experience, I think your dad can do a full body CT scan ist and then decide on looking for a reputable doctor ( when they find out the problem). And I think doing a full body CT scan is good because many illnesses cannot be detected by doing blood tests. If you are looking for Chinese Physician, I know of one at Rocher Road. Can't remember the name off hand, but i can go look for the namecard. He is the chairman of Traditional Chinese Medicine Association. But the medicines are quite expensive. HTH
