    Anybody like horse riding?

    Check this out. http://www.riderslodge.com.my

Riders Lodge, a country-styled lodge (outskirt of JB)

It is quite an exclusive place.

Legends Golf & Country Resort is just adjacent to Riders Lodge.

You need to self drive or take a cab from JB.

This lodge is run by australians. Apparently a lot of expats' kids learn horseriding there.

The owners are good hosts and they will personally walk around and talk to their customers during meal times, serving wine.

One thing to note, the chef is good, his creme brulee is fabulous.

The management takes pride in running their lodge and their horses.
The horses are well groomed and the trainers are attentive to your learning.

Definitely worth spending a weekend of R&R there. Moreover it's affordable

It seems really affordable. Is this the usual rates for horseriding?
        A 2 pax session is around 166RM.
Been wanting to learn horseriding for a really long time

Yeah it is affordable. but that is just the horseriding lessons, no accomodation.

IMO do stay for the at least a night if you're there. The weekend 2D1N package, http://www.riderslodge.com.my/Weeken...%201%20Day.htm cost less than 200sgd inclusive of tax and service charge.

and you get these as quoted from the site:
          -Welcome Drink
          -One night's Accommodation
          -1 Farmhouse Breakfast
          -1 Gourmet Lunch
          -1 Gourmet Dinner
-2 Trail Rides or group lessons or pony rides.
-Complimentary riders' drink after each ride.
          -Free use of Outdoor Jacuzzi
          -Country Home Hospitality

I encourage for first timers to go for 2D1N because
                    - without a transport, you have practically no choice but to stay there and laze around with nothing to do except ride, eat or nap. But if u have a car, u can drive out to makan supper or shop in JB etc.
                    - 1 ride usually last for 45 minutes. Bascially for amatuers 2 to 3 rides is the maximum per day. If you attempt more than that, your lower body will ache the next day and I doubt you will enjoy/feel comfortable on your ride the very next day

Nevertheless, if you wanna enjoy a longer country lifestyle, 3D2N is worth a try.

Just take note you have to pay for rides outside of your package.

actually i have a friend who takes up horse riding lessons in singapore. there used to be a horse riding lodge at sentosa. they have closed down though. they let me have a few free lessons on riding and it was really fun. I miss those times with the horses.

thanks for sharing. I might go down there someday for the sake of riding horses again. ^^

Has anyone here taken up lessons at the Singapore Polo Club before? I'm thinking of doing it later this year...

Anyone tried Singapore Polo club or singapore turf club's new open riding centre for lessons yet? Intending to choose either one to attend lessons. Any idea if they offer private lessons?
