  • Financial advisor services

    Hi cotters,

Has anyone used a financial advisor before to help plan your long term financial needs such as retirement and other long term goals ?

I'm pretty good with my money but that's as far as not splurging and partying like no tomorrow, owning some stocks and some hospitalisation and life insurance.

I've been reading in the papers that some people engage the service of a financial advisor and was wondering if anyone here has any experience to share ? Any website / links that could direct me to the service of one ? How much do they cost for the different level of advise etc.. ?

Having a financial consultant/advisor definitely has its benefits, they know the financial market better, the system of buying, selling and trading, the holding position, blue/green chip companies etc. For singapore investment, you can speak to financial advisors from any of the local banks like OCBC, POSB, HSBC etc..When you invest with them, the person usually takes 1%-3% commission from your earnings.
