Redand Island is the most beautiful island in Malaysia. I watched several Malaysia local Advertisements showing beautiful white sand & clear + clean sea. I wondered where it is. Then, my friend told me that it is Redang Island. I was really amazed by the beautiful sand and sea.

i think whenever i go to phuket, bali etc, we would go for one day island tours, and they would bring us to beautiful small islands with amazing sand(theres one called monkey island, sand was so white like fine salt!) and the waters are shallow for snorkling...and up to my waist, i could still see my toes...thats how clear it is... dont know the names,..though chicken island and monkey island are all i can recall....LOL. cos of the shape pf the mt, so they call the island that. and theyre all really small islands......only with a stretch of great sand and clear water.. And sometimes they can stop the boat in the middle of nowhere and let u snorkle! and sometimes thats cos the water is shallow, maybe only 6 metres deep, so u can see all the corals, fishes and etc... quite nice. (if u watched The Beach, the leonardo dicaprio show, they filmed it at phi phi island.. but thats a bigger island and its more commercialised so less unpolluted now)

The nicest is Maldives i guess! breakfast in the sea with your legs paddling in clear water! who doesnt want that...sigh.

I'm more familiar with beaches around Malaysia.

To name one more that I intend to go soon will be Sipandan, East Malaysia. One of the world's best diving site. More expensive compared to others.

I sooo need a beach getaway... intending to go from Kuching which will be cheaper. Tip: Book from malaysia, might be cheaper if you are lucky. get a Malaysian to book your accomodation since they tend to get their own special rates.

My bf's mom who stayed in Sri Lanka for a while mentioned that their beaches are very nice as well. One great diving site and beach will be Hikkaduwa. The south coast of Sri Lanka has very beautiful beaches and of coz...southwest of Sri lanka lies te famous Maldives.

Look around Malaysia/Philippines/Indonesia/Thailand, they have lovely and not widely known beaches. I'm always scouting for new ones.

Try asking fishing enthusiasts (sp?). They organize trips to 'funny' islands around Indonesia/Malaysia and I've seen many beautiful pictures. You can join their fishing trips too. There are many many fishing shops at Beach Road/Arab Street. I used to really dig fishing and ever want to catch my marlin or sailfish will be the best! (btw, I practise catch-and-release and I don't fish nowadays).
