Hey, can anyone please advise on which hotel to pick in Genting? I heard First World is cheap but very small room? Is Theme Park a good hotel? N is it true that most of the rooms in Genting, esp First World and Ria are haunted?? Do help me on this..

I stay in Genting hotel before. It seems alright to me. Most people dont go there to sleep. I seen first world room before, is really SMALL, but cheapest and furthest from casino, but first world has their own shopping area which is better.

They got free shuttle bus though. And all r walkable distance too. I think anywhere is fine

i paid $398 for two pax, 3 days 2 nights, transfer, daily breakfast.
      i think it's quite reasonable?

genting and highlands are the better hotels.IMO

          Hi Lovedust,
Saw an advertisement on TV just few days back - double deck coach by 5 Stars Tour Agency . Can check that out. They've just offered this new coach service, so might just have promotions.

Have tried WTS Travel - found their service so-so, though friends had experienced a more enjoyable ride.

There's another one - Luxury Tours. Check that out too.

            Hi lovedust,

There's this company called "Nice" .. it was featured in the papers some time ago.

They have a branch office in Singapore:

            Copthorne Orchid Hotel,
            Duneern Road,
            Singapore
            6256-5755

            www.plusliner.com

Um, the double deck bus is called Nice2 .. or something like that. I've checked out their schedule -- they have very limited routes, only to KL I think.

            HTH!

i always book my tickets from grassland at golden mile...think genting or highlands hotel is a better choice if ur budget allows cos i stayed in first world before and got bitten by lots of bed bugs and the rooms are reall THAT small...

location wise genting hotel is linked to more casinos, theme park hotel is just besides the outdoor theme park while first world hotel is located just above first world complex where there is an indoor theme park, snow world, some shops for shopping, a cineplex and foodcourts n restaurants..

                HTH =)

Stayed at Theme Park and i must say the rm looks nothin like the website. Overall it was ok, just looks a bit old n e walkway is a little dark but the place is quite clean so if you're fine with it then it shouldn't be too bad an experience. Plus it's near First World Plaza with all the fast food outlets and shoppin.

i must say the best hotel is Genting hotel
first world hotel is so urg, lousy!
the service was so slow... chambermaid did not ever clean the room before reach, found sh|t on the bedsheets

bebelatte: driving up is ok, just go slow, and if rainy period, the roads may be a little slippery. so must be more careful

                          bebelatte,
Do scan the M'sian news often just before you drive up. Landslides are common during the rainy season.

Do have a safe and fun trip!

In fact, l am very concern about landslides during rainy season. Some friends even suggested parking our cars at the bottom of the hills & take the cable cars up instead. I think this will be a better option. Do not want to take any risks.

hi, i think you should reconsider on leaving your car park somewhere... its quite dangerous in malaysia

people may try to break in your car, steal your tyre, steal or car, what ever you name it. so it might not be safe to leave your car park like anyhow
