  • Wedding dinner - Four Seasons

i'm planning my wedding next march and currently these two hotels are my fav, but i still need some advice on which of these two is better? ... i find conrad's price a bit on the high side, but i also thought that four seaons is a 6 star hotel and why the price is lower than conrad'?
any recent conrad or four seaons brides/bride-to be? ...

I had my wedding luncheon at the four seasons and it was just perfect. Service was fabulous, the venue was gorgeous, food was excellent, the banquet manager was wonderful and the cake... everyone was asking if there was any they could ta pao (doggy bag)!

one thing that really impressed me was that some extra relatives turned up (late) and the banquet manager had the initiative to find an empty space for them without having to disturb us, and even helped reorganise tables so that we could cut down on the number of tables we had to pay for.

Oh, and if you have a dog, you can bring him along for the dinner and stay too!

Conrad has only seating for max 360 @ 12 per table just to let you guys know.

& also 4 seasons has about 30-35 tables only i recall. rather small but yes the food is really famous & expensive too!

I had my dream wedding dinner at four seasons. I only have praises for them. I wrote about some of my experiences in another thread (hope you saw them). Anyway, I am so happy with them, I would love to hold some other parties with them in the future. I also have such lovely memories that every now and then, hubby and I would walk to four seasons if we happened to be at that area at night, and we would go into their ballroom cos its such a special place to us. Even until now (4 years later), whenever I am there, I have this dreamy, romantic and sweet feeling.

I really haven't heard an unhappy four seasons bride. The hotel itself, atmosphere and service is indeed wonderful. So, I'll say four seasons is the IT hotel for a lovely, romantic and luxurious wedding.

I've ben to both places for weddings and I definitely prefer Four Seasons over Conrad any time. The food is better and the atmosphere is so much nicer over at Four Seasons.

Alot of raves for Conrad, but I can't see what is the big deal about it. Its nice, but given these two places, I would take Four Seasons.

Was a helper at a wedding recently at Conrad, the banquet staff was not very impressive. However, I would encourage you to visit the two hotels and see which setip and atmosphere you prefer as preferences are different. Have fun!

I echo ginger, go to both ballrooms & check them out in person. The banquet managers will be more than happy to show you everything they have to offer.

I had my wedding at the Four Seasons & needless to say, I was another happy bride! We were so pleased my hubby even wrote in to thank them for their impeccable & unintrusive service

Everyone was happy, my in-laws, my friends & all the guests who attended. Food was super excellent. Service was very attentive. If you want a classy, non ostentatious wedding, go here.

Oh yes, I went to my friend's wedding luncheon there too. I like the theme - red roses decor including the wedding cake. Simple yet classy.

I have worked with Four Seasons' banquet & sales staff for a short while before (hope these guys are still with Four Seasons). They are professional and friendly people. Go for this hotel if you have the budget.

Have attended a relative's wedding @ four seasons 3 yrs back...

The food & atmosphere were simply fabulous. Of all the weddings I've attended this is the most impressive & memorable one. Hee hee, my cousin & I used to say if we can hold our weddings over there would be a dream come true.

                        Hi gajahgirl,

I am planning for my wedding in Mar06. Still in the preliminary stage, but will be having a buffet lunch wedding. My FH and I have more or less settled down on the Four Seasons Ballroom, because both of us just love the ballroom.

Will like to ask you if you have the chinese 8 course lunch or the buffet lunch. I think not many people have buffet lunch so I am a bit worried about the food. How was the food, was it good?

I had a chinese sit down meal (because the guests were all older folk and we figured that's what they would prefer. I've also been there for a western sit down dinner but i thought the food was not as good as the chinese.

The food we had was really excellent. At the tasting dinner, we got to meet with the chef to discuss details about food presentation and taste and they accomodated all our requests perfectly.

We swopped the chinese dessert for a 3 tier real wedding cake (hazelnut royaltine - HIGHLY recommended) which all the guests enjoyed - and we liked the fact that we were cutting a real cake, not a cardboard one! We also customised the dessert so each plate had our names written in chocolate sauce which was also a nice touch.

If you are doing a lunch, suggest you ask for the windows to be open - I loved the natural light that flowed into the room - made it so bright and happy.

                          Rachel,
I don't know if its changed, but when I got married in 2001, we could only choose between roses and orchids. We got to discuss the flower arrangements with the hotel florists and finally went with these lovely large white orchids set in a jungle of green leaves and ferns - I loved it! And as we were holding a dinner elsewhere, they let us take the flowers so that my dinner venue was overflowing with flowers - really lovely!

                              Hiya gajahgirl,

Thank you for the feedback. The reason why I am going for a international buffet lunch is because I want to cater for my future husband and his family's diet (vegetarian). With a buffet, everyone can eat whatever he likes. Besides that, I wanted something more relax with my friends moving around, chatting and socialising.

I like the idea of the natural light flowing into the room during daytime. I will keep that in mind! I guess that's what make the main ballroom so special, right?

I have heard about the Hazelnut Royaltine cake. Hopefully it's still around next year since I am getting married only next year! Don't mind me asking, did u have the basic menu or the upgraded menu? And how many tables?
