I got a Coach Signature Op Art Large Brooke Sateen shoulder bag in black, but I'm starting to hate it, esp since I've got too many black bags.

It's actually quite pretty, and can fit a small laptop, but like I said, I just got too many black bags and it's taking up space....

replied to ala carte bridal package?
I second Silhouette, btw. Lovely gowns, and reasonable.

My experience was that many boutiques do give you black face once you say you don't want the photography package. One way to "ID" the ones who don't have a problem is to see if their focus is more on design than offering...

I noticed that a lot. Which is why I ended up going ala carte - would rather pay more and get what I want, then to have blood slowly sucked from you. Silhouette even added some beading to my evening gown (which is not from them) FOC, because it was just a bit here and there.

Oh, ok. I guess I'm not very impressed with hyped-up designers - I've seen too many people go to brand name designers, and come out with a perfectly ordinary tube dress. I've been told that a tube dress is one of the easiest things to tailor - stuff like halternecks actually require much more expertise...

Any particular reason why you keep mentioning Michelle Huimin? I've yet to be impressed by anything that Bridal Veil turned out - they seemed woefully overpriced for the incredibly ordinary that they actually deliver. Is Michelle Huimin some new designed they brought on?...

I second One-Eye Click. They do studios and anywhere - I did my photoshoot in Ikea, and they had one couple who did it in NTUC. Their style is good for those pple who like strong colours and quirky - my favourite pix from the wedding is one of me giving a "WTH??" look to my hubby. We can't...

Afraid I didn't use their bridal services, but I saw some of their stuff - really pretty, and not too OTT. The lady boss is from Indonesia, and she married a local. She's quite upfront about telling you what she can deliver, and whether something is possible. They also keep records of whatever was promised,...

You may want to try Anggun Andaman as well. Their style is more yuppie and modern, so I liked them cos not as OTT as the others. I had them for my wedding - the decor was lovely, and the food was great. They are quite nice and professional - not like those who like to "cut" you here and there....

You could also wear a nice Peranakan outfit instead. Baju kurung, you won't have many opportunities to wear again.

Or get a sarong kebaya instead - I find them more fashionable, and you can wear to more events....

  • Photography. You're more likely to revisit the photos than watch the video over and over again.

Also.. ahem. Photography can do "photo touch up" and erase blemishes.. hahahah

replied to Regrets on Actual Day
I've had some regrets, but I was lucky enough that those were all "good to haves", rather than must-haves. My advice would be to make sure the things that are important to you take place, but be prepared to negotiate everything else.

For me, the gown I would wear was more important...

It's really up to you. Nowadays, there's lots of variations. As long as your parents and grandparents on both sides are ok, people will understand.

My hubby and I had one combined sanding to save costs....

there's some feedback here on Silhouette. Myself, I had a great experience with them. They're talented at making gowns. While their packages are not that competitive, they're a specialised wedding boutique that focuses on gowns, rather than trying to do everything themselves. Their speciality is embroidery,...

  • Girls do more for the wedding because girls have more invested in the wedding. Not just because they're socially conditioned to love weddings, but because you know that you'll get the blame if anything goes wrong.

Don't believe me? You think about it - when you start planning the wedding,...

It was quite good, according to the friend. A bit colourful for my taste, I think though. I preferred Anggun Andaman's decor and food....
